Assisted Natural Regeneration

Our mission is to protect and restore over 550 hectares of land by converting damaged mangrove forests into productive areas that provide protection for diversity and stability for all economically viable businesses while creating jobs for people in surrounding communities and increasing their livelihoods through ecosystem services.

Local communities play a key role in the project, as they will reap the benefits of the mangrove restoration through increased fishing yields and coastal protection. They will also be included in the development of the project as they play a vital role in the ongoing protection and conservation of the restored area.

Once funding is procured, the project can start Phase 1 with the creation of hydrologic channels to restore 120 hectares of mangroves, while also protecting 50 hectares of tropical oak forest, which is also disappearing at a high rate. By creating this hydrologic channels water flow will be able to come in and out depending on the ocean tides. Removing excess salt particles, allowing rapid and effective mangrove growth.funding is procured, the project can start Phase 1 with the creation of hydrologic channels to restore 120 hectares of mangroves, while also protecting 50 hectares of tropical oak forest, which is also disappearing at a high rate.
